Letter from Recruitment Chair
To the women participating in recruitment,
As VP Membership of Delta Gamma, Etx Xi I am honored to lead our chapter alongside dedicated, encouraging, and compassionate sisters during recruitment. Delta Gamma has truly become my home away from home. I can not wait to meet each and every one of you and hopefully make the recruitment process as special, inviting, and meaningful for you as it was for me.
Your recruitment experience is entirely what you make of it, and the best preparation you can possibly do for yourself is none at all. When I went through sorority recruitment I had no idea what to expect. The uncertainty filled me with a mix of excitement, anxiety, fear, and joy. I spent countless hours contemplating potential conversations and what to say. However, my best advice is to embrace your authentic self, take a deep breath, show yourself grace, and enjoy the process!
The question I most commonly get asked during recruitment is “Why did you go Delta Gamma?” In simple terms, the atmosphere in Delta Gamma felt effortlessly welcoming. There was a sense of inspiration that engulfed me as I walked through those doors. The women I met were genuine and unafraid to be themselves, creating an environment where I could do the same. Little did I know that during recruitment, I would encounter my biggest inspiration who later became my "big," the person who initially drew me to Delta Gamma. These women have become my biggest supporters, my shoulder to cry on, and ultimately my very best friends! Cherish every moment and embrace the chaos of recruitment, as it will be over before you know it. I wish I could experience walking through the doors of Delta Gamma for the first time all over again!
XOXO,
Emma Williams
